Marc'L Neumann started Monday, Sept. 14, as chief nursing officer at McLaren Greater Lansing, the 240-bed teaching hospital serving Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties.

Neumann most recently served as vice president and chief nursing officer at McLaren Thumb Region and McLaren Caro Region, two hospitals in the McLaren Health Care system. She has more than 20 years of nursing leadership experience.

Dean Mazzoni, president and CEO of McLaren Greater Lansing, said in a hospital announcement that Neumann's "commitment to supporting nurses and multidisciplinary care teams aligns closely with our mission and our continued focus on providing safe, high-quality, compassionate care for the Lansing community."

At McLaren Thumb Region and McLaren Caro Region, Neumann oversaw the rollout of the Cerner electronic medical records system at both hospitals. Under her leadership, McLaren Thumb Region earned what the hospital called the McLaren President's Award in 2025, a system-wide honor recognizing top performance in clinical quality, patient safety and operational results.

Before leading McLaren Thumb and Caro Region, Neumann held roles including manager of quality improvement and organizational excellence at those hospitals and director of patient care services at McLaren Bay Region.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saginaw Valley State University and a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University.

The hire is the second major leadership change at McLaren Greater Lansing this year. The hospital named Mazzoni as president and CEO in March after a national search. He joined from Franciscan Alliance, a 12-hospital Midwest system where he led the Michigan City, Indiana, division.

McLaren Greater Lansing trains health care providers through six residency and four fellowship programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The hospital also operates McLaren Grand Ledge, a freestanding emergency department and medical campus.
