Lansing-area voters will have five early voting locations to choose from for the Nov. 3 general election, according to a plan released by the Ingham County Clerk's office.

The mandatory early voting period runs Saturday, Oct. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 1. Absentee ballots become available Thursday, Sept. 24, according to the Michigan Secretary of State's election calendar.

Here is where and when residents can vote early.

City of Lansing

City of Lansing Elections Unit, 701 W. Jolly Rd. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except Wednesday, when hours shift to 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Foster Community Center, 200 N. Foster Ave. Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except Wednesday (11 a.m. to 7 p.m.). The site will also be open Monday, Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

City of East Lansing

Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Rd. Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Also open Monday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

WKAR-Studio A Building, 404 Wilson Rd. Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Also open Monday, Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lansing Charter Township

Lansing Township Hall, 3209 W. Michigan Ave. Hours vary by day: Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Monday and Tuesday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Wednesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Key dates

Ingham County Clerk Barb Byrum's office published the early voting plan on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Byrum said on X on Aug. 11 that her office had begun preparing for the November general election after certifying the Aug. 4 primary.

The last day to register to vote online or by mail is Monday, Oct. 19.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Polls will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to the Michigan Advance voter guide.
