Kaylee Voight of East Lansing turned a summer peach-picking haul into a recipe now served at nearly 2,500 Hampton by Hilton hotels across the United States and Canada.

Voight won the hotel chain's first Guest Waffle Boss competition, East Lansing Info reported on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Her prize: one million Hilton Honors points and a five-night stay at any Hampton by Hilton location worldwide.

The peach cobbler waffle tops a Belgian waffle with ripe peaches, oat crumble, caramel sauce and whipped cream, according to Bakery & Snacks. It is the first guest-created flavor in Hampton's breakfast lineup, which has previously featured Red Velvet, Pumpkin Spice and S'mores seasonal waffles.

The idea started at a Michigan cider mill in August 2025. Voight picked armloads of peaches and spent the following days testing vintage peach cobbler recipes she had collected from estate sales and thrift stores, according to East Lansing Info. While baking her way through the stash, she spotted an Instagram post promoting Hampton's new competition.

The contest accepted video submissions from Aug. 22 through Sept. 5, 2025. A panel of what Hampton called "breakfast experts" judged the entries.

"I live in Michigan, and I went peach picking. You're going to have a million peaches," Voight told USA Today. "Peach cobbler is kind of everything that you want in a waffle."

She wasn't expecting to win. Voight told East Lansing Info she figured she would "throw my hat in the ring" and move on.

Months later, Voight was out with her local running club when she noticed a missed call. She called back. Hampton told her she was a potential winner, and Voight said her "heart dropped."

Hampton by Hilton formally announced Voight as the winner on Oct. 23, 2025, according to a Hilton press release. The waffle rolled out at participating hotels in time for National Waffle Day on Aug. 24, according to Bake Magazine. Hampton estimates its guests make 30 million waffles a year across its properties.

Voight has already put her prizes to use. She traveled to Italy and Switzerland in May 2026, staying at a Hampton in Venice. She and her fiancé planned a trip to Greece for her birthday in October 2026, she told East Lansing Info.

The peach cobbler waffle is available for a limited time. Hampton has not announced an end date or whether a second Guest Waffle Boss competition is planned.
