Oakland Avenue commuters in Lansing will squeeze into a single lane starting Monday, Oct. 12, when sewer work reduces the road to one lane for nearly two weeks.
The City of Lansing Public Service Department announced that the stretch between Johnson Avenue and Larch Street will drop to one lane at about 7 a.m. Monday. Traffic will still flow through the work zone, but drivers should expect slower travel through the area.
The lane reduction is expected to last until about 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 23.
Construction details
The department did not specify what type of sewer work is planned, whether it's a repair, replacement or part of a larger project. The announcement also did not name a detour route, though traffic will be maintained through the area.
