Lansing’s Capitol–Ottawa intersection closes Thursday for paving

Downtown Lansing’s Capitol Avenue and Ottawa Street intersection will close Thursday, Nov. 5, for paving and sidewalk work.

The closure is expected to last until Monday, Nov. 16, according to a city Public Service Department traffic advisory published Tuesday, Nov. 3.

The city’s detour map provides these routes around the closure:

• Northbound Capitol Avenue: West on Allegan Street, north on Walnut Street, then east on Shiawassee Street back to Capitol Avenue.
• Southbound Capitol Avenue: West on Shiawassee Street, south on Walnut Street, then east on Allegan Street back to Capitol Avenue.
