Nearly 80 restaurants across the Greater Lansing region launched special deals Thursday, Oct. 1, for 517 Restaurant Week. The weeklong dining promotion runs through Wednesday, Oct. 7.
The deals span downtown Lansing, East Lansing, DeWitt, Dimondale and Grand Ledge. Most participating spots are offering a $7 featured dish. Select locations also have $5 featured drinks and $17 meal deals at higher-end restaurants, according to WLNS.
"No matter where you live in the Lansing region, there's a place to go that's close by," Samantha Harkins, CEO of Lansing 5:01, told WLNS on Oct. 1. "Lots of cool options, and it's a great way to try restaurants you have never tried before."
Lansing 5:01, Choose Lansing, the Lansing Foodies Facebook group and 517 Living co-host the event. It runs alongside 517 Living Community Week, a seven-day celebration of Greater Lansing organized by 517living.com founder Sara Pierce, WILX reported.
Downtown Lansing participants include Anqi Sushi Express, Jollof Afro Caribbean Lounge, Lansing Shuffle, Midtown Brewing Company, The Peanut Shop, Sea Leveaux, University Weiner and Weston's Kewpee Burger, according to Downtown Lansing, Inc..
In East Lansing, diners can find deals at Tabooli, Harrison Roadhouse, One North and Fuel'd. Falsetta's Casa Nova, The Cosmos/Zoobie's and Grains Indian Cuisine are among the Lansing participants outside downtown, City Pulse reported.
Surrounding communities are represented too. Tin Cup Cafe and Looking Glass Brewing Co. are participating in DeWitt, Snow Stars and Dimes Brewhouse in Dimondale, and Peppino's Pizza in Grand Ledge.
Some $7 highlights: La Mulata is serving chicken in sauce with white rice and sweet plantains. Sea Leveaux has lobster bisque or a gumbalya cone. Blue Gill Grill is offering blackened fish tacos. Aladdin's has a chicken shawarma sandwich, The People's Kitchen is featuring a single RFG pancake, and Bake N' Cakes has two torte slices.
