Lansing's 8th annual coat drive is collecting winter coats, hats and gloves at six drop-off sites across the city.

The Department of Human Relations and Community Services (HRCS) announced the drive Monday, Oct. 5, on X, saying it accepts new or gently used items to help keep neighbors warm through the winter. The drive runs through Friday, Oct. 16.

According to the city's coat drive flyer, drop-off locations are:

  • Lansing City Hall, 124 W. Michigan Ave.
  • Foster Community Center, 200 N. Foster Ave.
  • Gier Community Center, 2400 Hall St.
  • Schmidt Community Center, 5825 Wise Rd.
  • Letts Community Center, 1220 W. Kalamazoo St.
  • Maurer's Sanitary Cleaners, 2815 E. Saginaw St.

Donations will be accepted through Oct. 16. The coats will be distributed at Community Connect on Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Downtown CATA station, according to the city’s flyer.
